Staying Calm on Your Wedding Day

Uncategorizedadmin09 Dec 2011

It’s finally your Big Day, the one you’ve been dreaming about for years, planning for months, and it has finally arrived. So how do you stay calm amidst all the expectation that has built up over the months?

Preparation. Two weeks before your wedding date, make a to-do list of everything that still needs to be done. Associate timelines with your list items, and stick to them. Aim to complete everything you possibly can two days before your actual wedding date. That gives you a cushion of one day to take care of all last-minute errands, and leaves nothing to do on your wedding day but enjoy it!

Surround yourself with good company. You have picked the best of the best to be in your wedding party, but every group has an overexcited friend or tearfully emotional family member. Speak to them ahead of time and express your concerns. Explain that you’re thrilled to have them share in the happiest day of your life, but you want to celebrate with smiles.

Music. Create a playlist with songs you love that you know will calm those potential jitters. If things start to feel overwhelming, close your eyes and let the music take over.

Breathe. As you get ready to walk down the aisle, close your eyes and take ten deep breaths. It will put your mind at ease and help you focus on what’s important: the life you’re about to begin with the person that you love.
